How to Post Race Results

  1. To post results, you need to log in to our Yachtscoring site as a manager. We’ll make you a manager if this is something you will do on a regular basis.
  2. If you are posting on the water, you will need web service. You may have this on your device or you may link through another device serving as a “hotspot.”
  3. Before entering finish times for the boats, you have to enter a start time for each class. On the Main Menu (for a manager), under Running Races, select “Setup a New Start.”
  4. For each class, make sure the date is correct and has not defaulted to the next day. Now, for each class, enter the starting time (e.g., 19 10 00) and the Rating Selection, which is always “PHRF ToT.” Then press “Add All.” No need to enter Wind and Distance.
  5. Now go back to the Main Menu and select “Finish Races.” Select the last entry, which is the current race for all courses. In the next screen, you should see all boats listed on the left as “Unfinished Yachts.”
  6. For each finishing boat, select the boat name from the list on the left, then go to the bottom of the page and (after checking the date again) enter the finish time (e.g., 19 23 14) and press “Enter Finish Time.” The code for each finisher should default to “AOK.” Tip: Entering the finish times in chronological order is easiest, because the date and time for each entry defaults to the previous entry, minimizing the required change…and minimizing errors.
  7. After entering all finish times, enter the codes for other results, such as DNC, RET or TLE. Make sure the default finish time is after the start time; otherwise, it does not matter. Also make sure to select the correct code in place of AOK and then press Enter Finish Time. (Note: A boat not racing in order to serve on RC will be given a better score at the end of the series. For now, it should be scored DNC.)
  8. When you finish, there should be no boat names remaining in the upper list of Unfinished Yachts.
  9. Keep your paper records, just in case there are any problems. If you are given notice of a protest, please report that to the Commmodore immediately after the race. Thanks!
